About the Photographer
Photography has been one of my passions since I was a kid . I remember having a small kodak with plug in flash bulbs as a grade schooler, and was behind the lens from an early age. During high school is when I seriously started this enjoyable journey. I became skilled in the darkroom and led a group of six photographers for our school newspaper and yearbook.. On to college I spent two years on staff for the University of Dayton Flyer News and Daytonian. From there photography became more of a hobby than a career as I settled into a long career with a major corporation. All the while I remained an avid photographer, doing a few weddings for friends from high school and college and becoming the family photographer for events over the years.
It was around 2000 that I started to seriously consider getting into photography as a business . A friend of mine at work had been photographing weddings for more than 20 years via referrals and needed to hand off some of his work. We trained together for a few weddings and I began to take his overflow work. After a number of weddings over the years I started to work with some occasional portrait work , shooting nature and travel photography and even branching into video for weddings and events. In 2008 I founded Miami Valley Elevated Photography, llc, a ground based aerial photography company serving a number of different markets in southwest Ohio.
